This high-quality, anthracite slate is perfect for creating the appearance of rocky outcrops, mountain slopes, and other slate-covered environments. It is made from a mixture of real slate that has been crushed and graded to ensure a consistent particle size.

Slate 20-40 mm Anthracite is smaller than Slate 40-70 mm Anthracite, making it ideal for creating more detailed features, such as rocky pathways, slate roofs, and stone walls. It is also easier to apply to smaller surfaces and can be used to create a wider variety of effects, such as rubble and debris.

To use Slate 20-40 mm Anthracite, simply apply it to your surface using a brush or your fingers. You can then secure it in place with a water-based adhesive. Once the adhesive has dried, you can paint the slate or decorate it in any way you like.

Example uses:

  • Create a rocky pathway for your fantasy-themed scale modeling scene by applying Slate 20-40 mm Anthracite to the ground in a thin layer. Once the adhesive has dried, you can paint the slate a darker shade of grey to add more realism and add other rocky details such as grass tufts, wildflowers, and rocks.
  • Add Slate 20-40 mm Anthracite to your alpine diorama to create the appearance of a slate roof on a mountain hut.
  • Create a stone wall for your miniature figurines to climb over by applying Slate 20-40 mm Anthracite to a piece of foam board in a thick layer. Once the adhesive has dried, you can paint the slate a darker shade of grey to add more realism and add other stone details such as cracks and fissures.

Tips

  • For a more even finish, apply two or three thin coats of Slate instead of one thick coat.
  • Allow each coat of Slate to dry completely before applying the next coat.
  • If you are applying Slate to a vertical surface, start at the bottom of the surface and work your way up. This will help to prevent the Slate from dripping.
  • You can also use Slate to create a variety of different effects, such as a metallic finish, a weathered finish, or a rusty finish. To do this, simply apply the Slate in different ways or use different tools to create the desired effect.

  1. Prepare the surface: The surface should be clean, dry, and free of dust and grease.
  2. Apply the Slate : Use a brush or roller to apply a thin, even coat of Slate to the surface.
  3. Allow the Slate to dry: Allow the Slate to dry completely before handling. This may take several hours or overnight, depending on the thickness of the coat applied.
  4. Seal the Slate (optional): To protect the Slate from damage, you can seal it with a clear acrylic varnish. Apply a thin, even coat of varnish using a brush or roller. Allow the varnish to dry completely before handling.
